Visiting the Philae, the Unfinished Obelisk and the High Dam

The Philae Temple, dedicated to the Egyptian goddess Isis,
has been reassembled in a scenic location to match the original site of the temple on the island of Philae.

The remains of Philae were transferred to the nearby island of Agilika,
500 meters from the original island of Philae,
during a UNESCO campaign in the 1960s,
to save sites that were flooded by the waters of the Nile in the process of building the Aswan High Dam.
